Sacrificial Service and Sparkplugs

We've got a harley motorcycle in our worship center. It is interesting to learn of some of the parts of the motor. Every part is important for the engine to roar. This past Sunday we learned the importance of the spark plug. While they are unseen they are what make the engine come to life. In John 12:20-26 Jesus makes it clear that following Him means we will be willing to sacrificially serve Him faithfully. Our service and our sacrifice may go unseen, but it is the spark that makes high impact for the kingdom. We are never more like Jesus then when we sacrifice our all for Him and serve Him with everything we've got.

I shared with our congregation that to give our all means we will have to be willing to do anything He calls us to do. I shared that one day our church in Lubbock will help launch churches in highly unreached cities throughout America and that some in our church here will go and be a part of those starts. We had almost 28 people raise their hands and say that God was stirring them to be willing to sacrifice and serve in a strategic way. Whether that is doing local service evangelism or going on a Mission trip or starting a new work, it was exciting to see many (on a spring break Sunday no less!) say they are willing to be obedient to God's call.

Speaking of mission trips, hearing great reports from our missions team to New Orleans. About 22 college students and adults went to New Orleans to build and to hold ministry outreach events every night throughout their spring break week. Already hearing about numerous praying to receive Christ. Very cool!

Really excited about our VLife Golf Scramble on April 4th at Lakeridge Country Club here in Lubbock. We are raising money for the missions efforts in Haiti with former Texas Tech star running back Barron Batch. Great event. If you are interested in playing or sponsoring a hole please call Victory Life at 806-698-6553.

God is doing great things.
